NOTE: It needs to be pointed out that the Oblivion Script Extender, or any mod that manipulates the actual Oblivion executable file, will not work with the Direct2Drive version of the game. And it never will. The Steam version, thanks to a collaboration between Valve and the OBSE modders, does work with the script extender. A lot of great mods make use of the OBSE, so that’s definitely something to keep in mind before buying.

Direct2Drive may be the last to arrive to the party, but they have a weekend sale of their own up now. They’re showing their patriotism with games based on America’s troops, fighting for freedom all around the world… which I guess includes the Kingdom of Tamriel now. Ok, so it’s apparently not a particularly strict theme. Sale prices good through this Sunday, July 5th.
