For one week only over at Steam, the entire Total War series is on sale for 66% off. This includes individual games, expansions, and bundles. The DLC packs for Empire: Total War are the only exceptions, as they are only on sale for 10% off the regular price. Sale prices are good now through Monday, February 15.

Feb. 15 is Presidents’ Day here in the USA. How better to celebrate that than by taking control of George Washington himself in the battles against the British? Just don’t lose, or we’ll have to put the Queen on our money and serve all of our peas mushy. This bundle would also make for a perfect Valentine’s day present, assuming your sweetheart has a passion for sending thousands of men to their brutal and pointless deaths. Which (spoiler alert) he or she probably does.

Total War Mega Pack (everything but DLC) – $59.99 $20.39 / £13.59 / 20,39€

Do you like Crying?
… wait, that’s terrible.

Do you want to catch malaria and die?
um… Ugh.

Fine, no banter today. Far Cry and Far Cry 2 are on sale this weekend on Steam, half off the regular price. You can pick up either one, or both as a bundle, though the bundle is actually technically a penny more expensive then buying separately. Far Cry 2 includes the Fortunes DLC pack, so you won’t need to buy it separately. Sale is on from now through Sunday, February 7.

Far Cry$19.99 $4.99 / £2.49 / 4,99€
Far Cry 2: Fortune’s Edition$19.99 $9.99 / £7.49 / 14,99€

Platforming fans rejoice, because ‘Splosion Man is on sale for half-price this week, which is about $5 in real money. Sale is on from now through Sunday, February 7, but it requires an Xbox LIVE gold account to get the deal. It’s a deceptively simple game. The analog stick makes you run, and the other buttons make you explode. You’re made of explosion, so that’s somehow ok. You explode to jump, explode to attack, and explode to solve puzzles. I hear it’s even got a keen multiplayer mode.

Not to mention the catchy tunes.

Volition’s free-range Martian explosion-fest, Red Faction: Guerrilla, is on sale this week over at Direct2Drive. From now through next Friday, February 5, you can pick it up for 75% off of the regular price. In the US that means it’s only five bucks. You may want to read a few reviews first, because while it’s widely considered a very fun game, it’s also gotten some bad press about the PC port’s performance.

To celebrate the weekend Steam has three seperate deals for you, and they’re all awesome. First, we have the X-Com Complete Pack, which includes Apocalypse, Encounter, Intercepter, Terror from the Deep and UFO Defense. Five games for just €2/$2/£1. Not every X-Com game is as good as the other, and some are way too hard to even be enjoyable. Yet for that price, can you go wrong?

Second there’s the Freedom Force Pack, containing Freedom Force and Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich. Yes, a game about beating up Nazis. It’ll cost you the same as the X-Com pack, just €2/$2/£1.

And finally to get into the mood of cheap alcohol, cigars and sunshine, Tropico 3 is 66% off, making it €13,60/$13.

It seems that season 3 of Sam ‘n Max is upon us, and it has something to do with a space gorilla. Regardless of that, the entire first season is one sale right now for $4.95. That means you’ll get six games, for the price of your quadrupole hamburger or something else that’s about $5. All you need to do is go to this special site and buy it. And as a bonus, you can get a 15% discount of any other game by filling out their questionnaire. I don’t know if you can combine these two deals though, but I’m sure one of you will find out for us.

Valve’s first-person puzzler, Portal: Still Alive, is on sale Xbox LIVE Arcade.
It’s on sale all this week, but only if you have an Xbox LIVE gold membership.

This is the stand-alone version of Portal, just like the version featured in the Orange Box, but including bonus maps with new puzzles. Oddly, those 14 additional levels are actually taken directly from the Flash version of the game. If you have Portal on PC already, you can download that map-pack here, for free.
